YMCA OF THE ROSES IS AN APPROVED EIO

The YMCA of the Roses and Young Thinkers of York (YTY) are supported by local foundations, businesses, partners, and families committed to advancing academics in the School District of the City of York through robotics, engineering, and technology. By emphasizing communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation, the YMCA ensures that every dollar raised is spent in accordance with the district’s values and goals.

Businesses have a variety of ways to support initiatives within the School District of the City of York, including the EITC program. Your EITC contributions will help our PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) approved programs.

EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT TAX CREDIT PROGRAM (EITC)

The EITC program provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a Scholarship Organization, an Educational Improvement Organization, and/or a Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization.

Tax credits may be applied against your tax liability for the tax year in which the contribution was made. It is a win-win for businesses, students in the City of York, and Young Thinkers of York!

Applications are processed by the PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) on a first-come/first-served basis by the date submitted until the amount of available tax credits is exhausted. We recommend that new businesses submit their application NO LATER than July 1st.

For more details about the EITC programs and how to apply, visit DCED.

EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT ORGANIZATION (EIO)

EIOs are non-profit organizations that have been approved by DCED for participation in the EITC program. Young Thinkers of York became an EIO by applying to the DCED with a robotics and engineering program that demonstrates an educational improvement opportunity for kindergarten, 5th, and 8th-grade students in the City of York along with an after-school program for all ages.
